Participants will leave this training able to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health problems, provide initial help, and refer to professional help appropriately.

Mental Health First Aid is the gold standard in mental health training created by the Mental Health Commission of Canada, and is a 12-hour certificate training that can be implemented over 2 six-hour days anytime within one month, or broken down into 4 three-hour sessions over the course of one month.

The most common question that comes after safeTALK training is…. well what happens next? ASIST happens next.  For those people who want to be able to complete a suicide intervention from start to finish, ASIST is the training for you! Often times, organizations will designate a number of ASIST trained “experts” within the workplace to serve as the go-to once the majority of the team has been ASIST trained. This combination provides a fail proof strategy to protect against the tragedy of suicide in the workplace.

ASIST is the gold standard in suicide prevention training and is a hands on two-day training (12 hours) that is made up of lectures, activities, videos and comprehensive practice allowing participants to feel like “experts” in the topic of suicide.
